OR50: 40th Anniversary vs. Standard?

Post by Boy_Narf » Thu Apr 20, 2017 3:47 pm

Hello Everyone!

Are there any differences between then OR50 40th anniversary model and the standard version? Aside from the ugly gold handle caps and piping?

Also, what year was the 40th anniversary of the OR50? Just trying to gauge how old it is.

Thanks,

No, they're the same. The Anniversary has plexi front as well. I believe it was 2008.

I was thinking since I had a budget of 2K for a new amp and have fully exhausted my fender options, I could start looking at higher wattage Orange stuff. There is a OR50 ann locally for a decent price but think I'm goona pass.

Mine has a really cool "40th Anniversary" which makes a huge difference in tone.... for the better.... in a positive fashion....

Can you go and try it out without any obligation to buy it?
To be honest, I don't think it would have the headroom wh8ch I think you are after now, but at least you could see if you're heading in the right direction.

May be what you need is one of those old AD140. Massive headroom.... and superb clean tones???
