Selling amps...?
I'm thinking of selling two of my amps (the Blues Deville and the AD30) since I don't play them very often. The reason I don't play them that often is that I prefer the Vox over the Blues Deville for clean-ish tones and the CS50 over the AD30 for pure rock tones even though they're all different beasts with their own character. Please talk me out of it! Or tell me that's the right thing to do. I need response!

I was thinking you were a collector of Orange amps, which would mean hang on to the AD30!

Re: Selling amps...?
What's the reason for getting rid? If you need the cash then it may be difficult to persuade you not to
My view is get rid of the fender ...Was that the 4 Speaker Verson? And see where you are once that has sold .....Don't do anything too drastic!
But keep the single channel ad30 .....They are getting rarer to find.

Well, my intention wasn't being a collector, it just turned out that way. But maybe you're right.Jondog wrote:I was thinking you were a collector of Orange amps, which would mean hang on to the AD30!

Re: Selling amps...?
As I said I don't play them very often. I don't need the cash. What's bothering me though is the fact that the AD is modded with an FX loop. If it was "all original" I'd never sell it. Even if I'd leave it to a tech to restore it to the original scheme, the back plate would still have two "blind" holes. And yes, regarding the Fender, it's the 4 speaker version (Eminence). I like the amp though I'm not playing it that much.Ronnie Robinson wrote:What's the reason for getting rid? If you need the cash then it may be difficult to persuade you not to

Re: Selling amps...?
Sell.
I find it hard to find the time to play my "only" 3 amps regularly.... But at least they ate different enough to keep.
If the CS50 and AD30 are fairly similar, there's little point in keeping the less played amp.
As for the Fender..... I had a blues junior for a while. Really lovely. Didn't get played much. Sold it.

Ah yes that does make quite a difference........But what will you buy when you sell?Bensnake wrote:As I said I don't play them very often. I don't need the cash. Re: Selling amps...?
Do'no. Maybe I'll sell the RVMkll as well and buy the new Mklll with attenuator and wattage switching possibilities. And a Kemper for the cover band. I have a Pod HD500X now though it would be cool with a Kemper and some good Orange profiles... Then I could get rid of the PPC212CB and make room in the cave for a Friedman FRFR active monitor for the Kemper. Or two for stereo...Ronnie Robinson wrote:Ah yes that does make quite a difference........But what will you buy when you sell?

Re: Selling amps...?
I say sell them and the MKII... get the MKIII. I think about selling my AD30 and then I play it if it's modded I'd part with it and get one that's all stock
Though I will say I miss the MKII clean with reverb... very cool and different.

Re: Selling amps...?
Thanks guys! I think I'm gonna sell the DeVille, AD30, RV and the PPC212CB (my 412s sound better and actually I prefer the open back 212 over the closed back). New purchases will be a RVMklll and a Kemper with one or two Friedman monitors. And a vintage OR...

Good luck with the buy/sell! Ironically I was thinking about getting a DeVille, I don't think I will be after hearing what you had to sayBensnake wrote:Thanks guys! Re: Selling amps...?
Thanks man! And don't let my experience with the amp stop you from getting one. The DeVille is a great sounding amp though I believe I'll get every mighty Fender tones I could possibly aim for when getting a Kemper.thejay wrote:Good luck with the buy/sell! Re: Selling amps...?
So you never managed to get rid of the mkll last time eh? The lead guitarist in 2 blyga läppar uses a Kemper.... Really hard to hear the difference when live but I can't get over it's looks.... it kind of reminds me of what people of the 50's thought things in the future would look like
... To bad you aren't getting rid of the open back.... I could of helped you there
