NAMM 2017: What's new for Orange?

Post by StratusX » Mon Dec 26, 2016 6:37 pm

With NAMM only a few weeks away I didn't know if anyone has heard anything about new products from Orange. With the Tiny Terror, OR50, OR100 and Thunderverb line all being discontinued last year I feel like Orange must have something up their sleeves to launch in replacement. Usually they'll tease some stuff but I don't recall seeing anything.

So yeah - anyone know anything?

The Rockers that zzounds had listed are now removed... I would think those will be coming out officially at NAMM - Rocker 15 and Rocker 32. Didn't realize the TVs were going away too
Oranges - R32, OR50, R30, RVMKIII, OR100, AD30, OB212, CB212 (2x)
Non Orange - Mesa, Friedman, Vox & Marshall
Former Oranges - TT, JRT, OR15, RVMKII

Very cool, with a great feature set. Lets hope they have a head coming out as well.

I'm mostly interested in the 2x10 R32, can't wait to hear/read the comparisons with the original R30.

I, for one, am excited to hear Orange amps through 10" speakers. I used to think twelves were the only game in town, but I recently played an old Marshall 3x10 combo that changed my mind. I couldn't believe the midrange bark it had. I just hope the Rockers aren't the only new offering after so many great amps were put on the chopping block. I really think a lower watt version of the original OR is overdue. I'm thinking a 20-some-watt OR with 6V6s, concertina phase inverter included. Now I'm just daydreaming...

Quite disappointed so many models have been discontinued, Terror, OR100, OR50, Thunderverb too...

Just the other day, Orange put a post up on Facebook saying they're going to show a 'few' new products in the next couple of weeks....

I'm hoping they extent the Crush Pro range. I heard Adrian state in an interview not so long ago that while other companies were going down the digital route, we (Orange) didn't want to go that way but down the analogue route and if I remember correctly, he himself was working on op-amps. So, I'm hoping there's going to be a 120watt+ 2x12 analogue combo maybe based on the OR120/100, Thunderverb 200 or even something new... Valve/State amp. valve pre-amp, analogue power amp. Didn't he post an image on Instagram with what looked like a Valve/State amp in the background a bit of a while ago?... :P
