Hi guys,
I'm looking to blend my Thunderverb 200 with a Laney Klipp.
The sound of the Klipp always reminds me of a cow with a very bad cold
What I mean is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO-Ende86gg
Now someone told me that he can achieve this sound with his Orange OR (50 I guess).
Is someone able to confirm or refute this?
If it's possible with an OR, then I'd rather stay with Orange I think...

Holy hell! I've never been a Laney guy, but this thing sounds amazing!
Re: Orange OR and Laney Klipp
No kidding! I've never heard an amp that sounds scary as hell on it's own like that! I wouldn't want to be in a dark alley with one of those playing!Gladmarr wrote:Holy hell! I've never been a Laney guy, but this thing sounds amazing!

OR doesn't sag like that. Sounds more like Matamp. Maybe there's some trick but I don't know it.

Re: Orange OR and Laney Klipp
I missed out on a deal for one locally a little while back.
I suppose it would have been totally impractical for my own uses, but I still wanted to buy and try it out....

Re: Orange OR and Laney Klipp
I'm so so happy I made the right decision and bought an Or120 instead of the Klipp...

Re: Orange OR and Laney Klipp
I used to want a Klipp, but I can get a tone like that out of a Catalinbread Sabra Cadabra or EQD's Crimson Drive. Close enough, anyway.
It's always cool to have the real thing (in this case, something Iommi used for a bit), but in this case, I too would rather have an OR-120.

That's quite the mouthful if one asks you what you're playing withGorgar wrote:I used to want a Klipp, but I can get a tone like that out of a Catalinbread Sabra Cadabra or EQD's Crimson Drive. Close enough, anyway.

If I can get a bargain I'll buy one in the future maybe, but for the moment these laneys almost go for as much as the the Or's.
I was already negotiating with someone for a Klipp, but he felt my enthusiasm at that moment and instead of the 800 that we were talking about he suddenly wanted 1000. Greed made me pass...
The cookie crumbled as it was supposed to I guess

Re: Orange OR and Laney Klipp
You definitely cant go wrong with a OR120!
Owning several OR80's 120's and Klipp's along with the PA model which doesn't have the Klipp circuit, I personally do not like the "Klipp" Fuzz....nothing other than ice pick horror...lol
However the clean channel is to die for, with their Partridge transformers, it has some old characteristics of the Supergroups but with a mv! I sure don't see may Klipps out there anymore as well, if so they are mostly in the UK.
