Rocker 30 EQ question

Post by Gordy G » Sun Oct 23, 2016 1:04 pm

Hi,i've been gigging with a Rocker 30C for some time now & i have a question about the EQ settings i've arrived at,to get the eq i'm after.
All settings are o'clock Hour Hand.

Gain 2
Bass Full
Mid 3 to 4
Treble Off or 8

These eq settings seem a bit extreme to me,is it possible they could indicate a possible amp/valve problem, the amp sounds good with plenty of "guts"
Cheers,Graham.

Not sure about treble being off, but 8 sounds reasonable. I ran mine with the EQ maxed on all three and would sometimes roll back the treble depending on the guitar. I found the Rocker to have s very subtle EQ compared to other amps.

It's seems a bit on the extreme, but if it's a cool sound and works for your music then why worry about it? Maybe this EQ is what plays nice with your current guitar? I set my R30 on the bass-heavy side too for my telecaster.

Edit: and much like jondog, I also roll of some treble.

But if you're really worried something might be up with your amp, just have it checked by an ampdoctor!

I run mine with everything at 3 o'clock. I will second the above saying the EQ isn't all that sensitive.
