Yeah I've always run EL34s. Ade once suggested 6L6s for bass. 6550s? Probably not my thing.

I'm not sure they're 6550's though it looks that way in the pic. They're a little wider compared to EL34's. But I may be wrong.

I think the power tubes are GT 6CA7s (so still EL34 family)
