Pedal help...
I'm looking for a "multi effect processor" but only I want it to be about 4 effects or so (distortion, delay, chorus, compressor etc...the important one being distortion). I want it to be analog and I want it to be high quality. Does something like this exist? I'm sure I've seen stuff like that somewhere. A key element would be that the gain/distortion sounds good through a clean amp. Oh and Merry Christmas!

Hahah thanks for that man. I just checked out that Carl Martin Quattro...holy effin' poo! Sounds fantastic. Pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Are there any others anyone could suggest? I checked out one from T rex...meh. The Tech 21 wasn't the right kind of over drive....Janglin_Jack wrote:4th try to post this short response....check out Carl Martin Quattro and Tech 21 Fly Rig. Re: Pedal help...
G-System is not going to do what you want. It doesn't do distortion of any kind. It's got top-notch effects and it's built like a tank (ever see the promo vid where they run over it with a bike, car, truck, and tank and it keeps working?) but it's a lot of money, too. Especially if it's not going to meet all of your needs...
Re: Pedal help...
Line 6 POD HD500X. It does it all including amp sim. Line 6 M9 or M13 if you're only after the effects.

Re: Pedal help...
I was already really close to buying that, and also the Boss GT100 but it's just too much that I will never use. I just kinda want to go for higher quality effects and drive since I'll be running it into a real Marshall 1959 anyway.Bensnake wrote:Line 6 POD HD500X. It does it all including amp sim. Re: Pedal help...
Yeah, you're right. Didn't know you were gonna run it up front a 1959. Then a Carl Martin should fill your needs. They really sound great. I'm interested in the CM Plexitone myself for my forthcoming Marshall (probably a 1959HW).Wendigo wrote:I was already really close to buying that, and also the Boss GT100 but it's just too much that I will never use. Edit: Just checked the Quatto out. Hot damn! Sounds great.

Yeah I've ordered it...we'll see how it sounds in person, but judging from one or two of the demos I've seen it must be pretty sweet.Bensnake wrote:

Re: Pedal help...
I used the Zoom G7 years ago and it was solid! Not sure how the new zoom stuff is. Aside from that I would recommend the FlyRig as well.
I'm tempted to just get one for those "I don't wanna bring my board jams". hah.

Re: Pedal help...
So here's my review of the Quattro.
Extremely musical and natural sounding. Best compressor in existence. I run it with four cables to put the chorus and delay in my 1959's fx loop. If they are in front of the amp, the compressor's level control can clip the input of the chorus which sounds like crap. However, putting them in the fx loop causes the inner workings of the chorus effect to be audible like some weird clockwork through the amp. I suspected that this might be because of the buffer no longer being in front of it, so i added a buffer on the way to the loop. Problem solved.
This is the best pedal thingy ever. I've never heard a chorus sound good with distortion until now ( though its still not my thing). All four of the effects are top notch. The fact that all four are analouge really seems to work and its a joy to play and simple to use. Perfect.
