My birthday party today!

So my 60th birthday was Wednesday and tonight we're having a big party at the club where we play all the time - lots of friends are going to play or sit in with us, and we're going to have Charlie Farren (formerly in the Joe Perry Project and Farrenheit) doing an acoustic set somewhere in the middle! Plus my wife has something planned and decorating the club which scares me a little.

After Charlie's set, he's going to sit in with my band and we're going to do the JPP's "East Coast West Coast" and "I've Got the Rock and Rolls Again." Hopefully some video will follow! Charlie said 'I'll bring my Blackstar combo' to which I replied 'Well, I'll have a spare Orange AD30TC combo for guest guitarists to use.' Charlie wrote back 'really looking forward to playing through your Orange!'

Wow. Just got home - brought the guitars, going back for the amps tomorrow night...

It was absolutely awesome. Had two friends play acoustic first - then Charlie Farren who just rocked the place - then we did two Joe Perry Project songs that he wrote - and then had all sorts of musician friends join us. My old original band played, my brother played drums, other friends - and at one point, we had three SG's onstage all playing at once! It was incredible and we went really late. The owner of the club who's a friend said "Hey - can we do your birthday every four months?" ha ha ha ha

Normally, when you play a gig, you walk around and you know a few people here and there - I knew freaking EVERYBODY! It was pretty incredible - at least 150 -175 people there! Pix to come - I'm too tired right now to download the camera!

"One really good thing about being a musician is that by the end of the night you´re still sober enough too spell, even if it´s your own birthday party, ...and you´ve still had more fun than everybody else that was there"!!
