solo decoding software or apps?

Post by Mrjones2004x » Tue Sep 01, 2015 4:16 pm

Hi,

does a such thing exist?
Looking for either an app or some software which I can put a song into and then choose a particular section and it can tab out the solo part.
I still struggle with working out some tabs/solos by ear and if the tabs are not available online then id like to be able to put the said part through some software.

Cheers
Tone is everything

Interesting!

Don't know if that stuff exist, but if it did it'd be way cool - and a nightmare for copyrights!!!

I imagine one software stumbling block would be the separation of tracks, but I know software that can recognise music from short extracts do exists.

Don't know about stand alone or how well it would deal w/ trying to pick out a single line from a stereo mix w/o doing a fair amount of manual manipulation to isolate what you were trying to tab ahead of time, but several DAW packages have this capability either native or as a plug in.

I've done it a few times in Samplitude and it's worked pretty well on single tracks that I've recorded.

I've used the program Amazing Slowdowner for a long time and they do have an iPad app. You can pick any point in a song, slow it down while still in pitch, and loop the section until you're ready to move on. It should help you with your ear too without being too frustrating.

I know it's not a tab app but it's worked very well for me over the years.
