I think it's the solid state slave units they made

The guy states "note there are no orange or matamp labels on this unit but it looks very much like their style of construction."
It doesn't look like their style of construction to me...

It's odd that he didn't show a pic of the back panel, which would be most useful in identifying it. The orange metal bit is obviously the part that suggests that Orange made it (not necessarily Matamp though). However, when this chassis was installed in whatever product it was a part of, the visible part (back panel) would have apparently been black. That suggests to me that it could have been part of one of Orange's later experiments like OMEC or Jimmy Bean amps or some of the odd disco/PA products, but was not likely part of an actual Orange-branded product. The PCB material does look similar to what was used by Orange in the 1970's, so I think it's reasonable to think that it came from Orange. It seems relatively useless on its' own though, whatever it is.

To me, it looks like it could be part of a Matamp made Orange disco console. The Partridge (or Partridge-like) transformer suggests Matamp.
But is this sells for much more than bubble gum money, I'm going to start powder coating every piece of scrap metal I can find Orange and selling them to suckers.

I'd be a bit scared to plug that in and power it up because of the rusty transformer.
Also, why no shots of the back panel from the back?
It could be missing a lot of parts.

I just learned a few years ago that rusty transformers aren't necessarily a bad thing. I can't for the life of me remember why, but look it up.

OMECs and Jimmy Beans used a toroidal transformer.
The Orange turntables weren't powered so that rules that out. Going through my collection of Orange pix and I haven't seen anything that looks like it would fit....

I guess you're right, but damn, imagine all the crap that's gonna pop up on ebay because of that article.

I know what you're saying, and it does seem counterintuitive. However, the article came out in 2009, and it doesn't seem like eBay has become any crappier than it would've been anyway.

Re: Wierd Orange/Matamp?? Chassis on Gumtree.
I'm thinking that it could be the guts to a Monitor 150 after looking at the old Orange catalog. The pictured amp's output clearly would run internally to the speaker(s) based on the output cable running below the PCB, so I have to assume that it came from something with a powered speaker and probably no preamp section based on the chassis. I don't know if it would likely have needed more than two FETs to produce 150 watts at that point in time though (assuming that those are the bottoms of two FETs mounted to the back panel).
