OBC210 Mini - New Bass Cab Released
https://orangeamps.com/products/bass-gu ... c210-mini/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The OBC210 Mini is Orange Amplification’s smallest ‘conventional’, non-isobaric cabinet to date. As part of the successful OBC Series, used by the likes of Geddy Lee, Glenn Hughes and John McVie, the new 2x10 ensures the maximum punch from the smallest available space. It combines portability and solid construction with an assertiveness that belies its compact size.
This latest cabinet is constructed using birch plywood. This choice of material creates a well balanced and resonant enclosure adding presence to the overall sound. The OBC210 Mini comes complete with the Orange signature skid runners to acoustically bond the cabinet to the stage and improve bass response.
Housed within the cabinet is a pair of 10” Eminence Legend speakers. Tried and tested on the road in a number of other OBC cabinets, the two 200W drivers are a perfect fit for the new design. They deliver a rich low end with great mid-range clarity making sure the OBC210 Mini bears all the sonic hallmarks of a classic 2x10” cabinet.
The new cabinet also features two Speakon connectors that allow for daisy chaining to another cabinet of the same impedance for a total load of 4 Ohms. The new cabinet’s dimensions allow it to sit comfortably on top of the OBC410 or OBC115 to create some smart looking stacks that push some serious air!
The versatile array of tones produced by the OBC210 Mini includes pronounced and detailed mid ranges, highs with smooth and satisfying character and a surprising great low-end clout. Its warmth and sharp bass response come with a gravity and boldness that will shock even the fussiest bass players.
Specifications
Features Compact 2×10″ bass cabinet with parallel Speakon jacks for ‘daisy chaining’
Speaker 2 x 10" Eminence Legends
Impedance 8 Ohms
Power Handling 400 watts
Finish Options Orange or Black Tolex
Dimensions 62 x 35 x 34cm (24.4 x 13.8 x 13.4")
Weight 19.25kg (42.43lb)
Very cool, I will definately be in the market for this. Thanks Orange!! It's essentially a halved OBC410 minus the tweeter and it cuts back on the depth from 17.91" to 13.4". I wonder what affect that depth cut will have on tone? Looks great though, finally some more great cabs (i don't like the isobaric).

great point. i'd love to see a obc410 mini, where they cut that down on size a little bit as well. 92 lbs. is a heavy beast to haul around.Boy_Narf wrote:Sweet! Now where the heck is the 1X15 OB1 combo?

Re: OBC210 Mini - New Bass Cab Released
Hope it is better than my old 2x10 which wasn't half as good as my 4x10.
Pretty sure it will be but that is pretty compact for a 2x10. Wonder too which 'Legend' 10"ers Orange are using. The various 200W ones on the Eminence site vary between 90.5 and 96.4dB/W/m efficiency ratings. Of course they may well be an OEM variant made specifically for Orange.
At any rate I'm pretty much sorted for bass cabs and not looking for a 2x10 myself. Be interesting to hear / try it though.
Andy.

since the cab is 8 ohm i'm guessing it's the CA10-16. a pair would be 8 ohms.a.hun wrote:Hope it is better than my old 2x10 which wasn't half as good as my 4x10.

Re: OBC210 Mini - New Bass Cab Released
I saw this earlier in a news feed. I looked it up to see if there was any price mentioned and it was one for 519 pounds (I don't have that nifty pound symbol ) in the UK, which is around $810.34 in the US, where I live. Too pricey for me, especially for just a 400 watt 2x10" bass cabinet. Then again, that's Orange for you.

Only available as plug-ins until the fully featured selfstanding hardware update comes out.Randy Bass wrote:Where are the knobs?!
Alternative answer: Across the stage, plugged into the guitar amp(s)!

That's true. It would probably be marked down cheaper for this market.markjazzbassist wrote:yeah but if you compare that to the obc115 is 500 something in us. so it will be the same in us dollars. should be around 550. not a bad price.CPL wrote:I saw this earlier in a news feed. The funny thing about that is Guitar World referred to it as an amp, but here it seems to be a cab. http://www.guitarworld.com/orange-ampli ... -amp/25102" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Randy Bass wrote:Where are the knobs?!
