Awesome detailed review!

It's probably only a matter of time before I get my hands on one of these, but it could be a while before I can afford it.

Yeah, the price is a bit daunting. For what it offers not ridiculous though. Be nice to see one with less features and a bit cheaper. Like those original pedals they never put in production.

Yes and no. Those looked great.

Orange may hopefully do something along those lines later. But I'd say that they have a genuine winning combination of drive and EQ with the BBg. I suspect there'll be a cheaper (and ? safer :lol:) MIC BBg version at some point. Makes sense to me - it just wouldn't work as well or be anything like as versatile if you compromised the EQ features. I love simplicity of use but believe me this thing is dead easy to dial in for a huge range of great tones. Just lost a couple of hours today with it and my LP Jr. Special. It is expensive, but totally worth it for both the build quality and sounds IMO. I'm glad I jumped - no regrets!

For the price, they better not be made in China.

Yeah sorry. But hey, it is only the 4th bit of Orange goodness I've bought. I had to tell somebody about it...

I'm just going to throw this out there - Alex, I hope you're listening - I would not be averse to Orange sending me one to test, review, and ultimately keep forever. I have a lot of sway with the pedal buying public.

I think as long time and loyal member to the brand and forum Orange should offer their new products to us for a free trial and evaluation, as well as a discount>

Good review with comments from Ade in the UK Guitar&Bass rag (Sept '15):
http://www.guitar-bass.net/gear/orange- ... ar-review/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Most interesting bit was that they recommended using a 12V supply instead of 9V. (Hadn't noticed but it does say in the manual you can use 9 - 12VDC regulated power supplies.) They say it smoothes out the note decay and (further) improves the dynamics. Grabbed the 12V supply for my Boss Parametric only to find it has a larger barrel plug size. Damn, now I'll have to go and buy another! :lol:

Oh and according to Ade they are only doing 2,500 of these CS BBgs, so apparently you have to grab 'em while they are hot. I appear to have no. 686.

Still finding great new sounds and combinations with this thing. It sounds incredible through my wee 10W valve TOA PA amp for example, itself something like a 20W Marshall 2061. Now that would be a winning combination I'm thinking.
