I am restoring an orange 6x12 cab. Does anybody know what impedance it was rated at originally? The little "ohm tag" is missing.
I am going to put six 16 ohm greyback celestions in it. what are my options for the final impedance? Is 4 or 8 ohms possible? Any tips on working with the basketweave grill cloth would be welcome.

I saw what I think is one of these cabinet's in the Blink 182 video for "First Date". Is that indeed what the GTR player is using in the video?
Is the 6X12 a GTR cab. or Bass cab.?

I think I would go with 4- 16ohm speakers and 2- 8ohm speakers. Wire the 4 like a 4 X 12 cab and then wire the 2 into a 16 ohm load- then combine them all into a total 8 ohm load. Billy

I would try 3rows of 2x8Ohms speakers

<font face='Arial'>
+--8-8--+
´´´´´´´´´´´
+--8-8--+
´´´´´´´´´´´
+--8-8--+
´´´´´´´´´´´
´´´´´´´´´´´
</font id='Arial'>

so the total impedance would be 5.33Ohms so you could jack it into the 4Ohms.....I know its an diffrence of 1.33Ohms but my Marshall works fine with this technique since 1999....but bigger wearing of tubes.....never blew a tube or fuse....BUT I AM NOT SURE IF YOU SHOULD TRY THIS....MAYBE somebody else knows if this is possible..

I thinck you shouldnt mix impedances, because your speakers with a lower impendance will take more power than the highe impendance ones....

When Orange was formed, it was a tongue-in-cheek poke at the Beatles who had formed Apple Music with the apple logo.

Orange...Apple...love the Brit wit!
