New Load Box and Guitar day!

Got me a Suhr Reactive Load, amazing little thing! As the name says, it is a reactive load box, safely loads a tube amp for recording and practicing silently. Sounds incredibly. I cannot believe I can play and record my Rocker 30 very late at night, just using headphones and speaker simulation from the Wall fo Sound plugin. The Fargen and the Reeves also sound amazing with this!

Also, I got a brand new Fender Telecaster JA 90. Had never seen one of these... Was looking for an affordable semi hollow (tried a bunch of Epis, which did not do anything for me), and was almost set on a Guild Starfire IV (amazing guitar), until I played this Tele.. WOW!!! I got to play it with an OR15 on the store, and it sounded amazing!! The Seymour Duncan P90s scream classic rock (think The Who, the first three Zeppelin albums, CCR, early Aerosmith etc...), very good and surprisingly hot. IMO, this baby just smokes the new Gibson Les Paul Special and Les Paul Junior. Plus, it is very cool looking!

Pics or it didn't happen...

Yeah, the name of the thread gives room for a lot of imagination... But pretty normal stuff.

The Tele looks and sounds amazing. The pickups are very nice, surprisingly hot, but very clear. I find that the sweet spot is the Master in the Rocker's dirty channel on 11 and the gain at noon. Great classic rock tone. The natural channel dimed also sounds great with it.

And the greatest thing is that now I can play it with my amps very open and loud in my apartament, thanks to the Reactive Load! I am so excited with this tiny box...

Regardless of what the thread title means, I wouldn't mind getting gay with that Telecaster. It's real purty.

Awesome!

I have been looking for a box like that...was checking out the Two Notes stuff. What made you go Suhr?

Ironically I have been eyeing up the JA90 as well! Hmmm I might have to jump now...

I found that the Two Notes Torpedo Live was way too expensive. Both do a great job loading the amp (both are reactive, instead of passive, like the Cab Clone). The Torpedo Live just has the speaker simulation already inside the unit, so you can play it live (hence, the name).

The Suhr is just a load box. It does not do anything on its own, you need something to simulate a speaker. In my case, since the main intention was to play and record at home, it was sufficient, since I can plug it to an interface and to a DAW, and then run Two Notes' Wall of Sound pluggin (which has the speaker simulation and you can load tons of really good and extremely realistic IRs).

If I ever want to take the Suhr to a live situation, and not use a cabinet, I would have to get something like a Torpedo CAB. Even so, this combination (Suhr + Torpedo CAB) would still be cheaper than buying a Torpedo Live (unless you get a used one in a good price), and the results would be the same.

Also, despite the fact that I only read great things of Two Notes, I've already used products made by Suhr, and the quality is just superb.

It is really a no brainer, IMO. Sounds and feels amazing, the hype is totally justified.

And about the JA90, go for it! It is a great guitar!

Cheers

Nice! Those guitars are sweet. I've been very tempted in the past to get one.

That Telecaster is a "she" without question, as evidenced by the F-Hole.
