It's weird that that rasping sound disappeared from your cab though... I would assume that if damaged is done it would stay...???
Could your speaker have been moist at all at the time?
It was scary! But damn did my 3 minute Fat Old Sun solo sound loud, crispy and straight awesome.
Everything was dry and tidy. I just gave it a weekend's rest, then checked the connections and plugged everything back in and the raspy ghost whooshing and rattling had vanished.
