NGD, another CV tele!

Post by jasondunringill » Mon Nov 24, 2014 9:02 pm

New addition to the family, a bit of time setting up and new strings and she's a cracker. Plays great, sounds awesome (I'll add a four way switch at some point)
Cheers Andy and others on here for putting me on to the CV, got to say nothing about it feels like a budget guitar, probably better out of the box than my mim strat (which is great after a pickup upgrade, don't think I'll feel the need to upgrade the pups on the CV any time soon, all the classic Tele sounds are there)
Barely put her down since she arrived :D

Failing miserably to post a pic! I don't think I'm particularly dense technically but I can't get the pic from photobucket up here. Clicking the Img button and pasting the link but no joy. Can someone explain in very simple terms how it works?

i beleive the cv teles come with tone rider pickups as stock and sound pretty good to me.

a google search would confirm the model im sure.

with mine, i noticed the cavities had sheilding paint in them, but werent wired to the ground,

i did this and it's quietened it a little.

but an all around great guitar!

Ah, good pickups, didn't realise they were used in these guitars, that's what I put in my strat and I love them.
It's actually pretty quiet now but I'll have a look inside when I put the four way switch in.

I'm obviously a dullard. I've tried posting the above link between the Img tabs as shown above but still not working. Which bits of the above is the file name and should I just use that rather than the full url?
I'm having to do my internetting on my kindle fire tablet, PC died. Is it possible the Img link doesn't work on this tablet?

Very nice. That's my favorite finish for the traditional Teles.

Yeah they really are great guitars Jason. Genuinely better (IMO) than the various Mex. Bajas etc. I was trying at the time and basically half the price. Since getting mine a couple of years back my other electrics have been feeling pretty ignored. And frankly though I also love the Tokai Breezysound I recently grabbed from Bert (Foef), even with it's really high end p/ups it is more a case of 'different' rather than better. The one is a pine bodied maple neck, the other Alder / Rosewood, of course they sound different. The Tokai is louder and fuller sounding, but the CV really does have great tone too.

The p/ups are effectively Toneriders, but without the actual name.
