Here's a fun one!
If you have more than one amp(most of you do), have you ever played them simultaneously?
Whats your favorite combinations of amps to record, play live or just jam around with?
How do you go about it? Pedals, y-splitters, switchers?
I'm on my way to pick up a or15 thats been to repairs and i cant wait to ABY it with my other amps.
Multiple amp combinations

Re: Multiple amp combinations
Favourite was my Princeton 6G2 1x12 and Dr. Z Z28 through a 4x10.
Just had this great clean presence and took dirt pedals really well.
Another great one was my Hiwatt DR103 through a 4x10 bass cab and my friends Eminar 100 watt head (kinda JMP territory but cleaner) through a 2x12 vert. Sounded huge with fuzz.
When I used to bi-amp I started with a Boss LS-2 but then went to the Framptone Switcher.
Both worked fine however the Framptone worked perfectly with all amps whereas the LS-2 could be picky.

Re: Multiple amp combinations
A couple bands ago, I was playing leads in a prog/alt outfit with the rhythm guitarist/vocalist playing an hss strat into a rockerverb 50 half stack while I was using my SG and tele through my Marshall Jubilee 212 combo. All vintage 30s, I'm pretty sure. We used some modulation and time based effects for atmosphere and ambiance. Bassist had a Stingray into an SVT classic on an 8by10. I rolled a lot of gain and bass off, but cut through like a knife on top of a really thick ensemble without overpowering or stealing the show. It was a great sound that to this day I cannot beat.

Re: Multiple amp combinations
Orange + Vox = killer combination. Orange + Hiwatt too.
Instrument --> ABY split --> strictly separate amps and speakers.
Andy.

Re: Multiple amp combinations
I love my Fender Twin Reverb + Orange TH100. The Orange takes care of the mid range and the Fender is more lows and highs. I've got a JHS A and B separator that allows you to turn either amp on or off or use both simultaneously. The JHS pedal is a bit noisy, however. I'd like to switch to a Lehle Little Dual.

Re: Multiple amp combinations
Once, I hooked up my RV 50 MK1 head + PPPC412 with my co-guitar player's borrowed TV50 head + some Peavey 4x12 cabinet = insane wall of sound The midrange bite form the RV married really well with the thick, boomy sound of the TV...I think I got struck end by some GAS
At no e I run my Ibanez TH15H and Micro Terror simultaneously through separate PPC112's and that sounds good. It give me the possibility to dial in just as much midrange to fit the TH15H more Fender-kind of tone
