NGD "Sheraton"

Post by Doctor Volume » Sat May 31, 2014 1:46 am

Just got an Epi Sheraton. Good story.

I was looking for a natural or vintage burst. Vintage was my first option. Called two Pittsburgh Guitar Centers. One had an ebony and a vintage. One asked me to spell "Sheraton" and gave me a super low price on a a natural that i didn't believe. I called bulls#!t on the second one and went to the first. I only had enough time to go to one, so i chose the first. To my dismay, they only had two ebony. After a long debate, I bought one. I asked about a case, they had none. So I left the store caseless. When I got to my car, I GPSed the other store and found out I could make it before they closed.

Long story short, I got a new natural, a case and got money back with a trade-in on the ebony. They traded it in with no problem since I just bought it at a Guitar Center less than 30 Minutes ago.

This is definitely a sweet guitar. Sounds great on my TH100's clean channel.
Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tomorrow?

Congrats! Always fancied something along those lines.

Bought one of these introductory Epi LP special II's for my eldest girl the other week...
and was quite frankly astounded by it's quality, intonation and tone is unbelievably good for any money. Only short coming is the action and feel which doesn't compare to my Gibbies.

Can't complain at £119 though... of course she promptly fell off her skates and broke her wrist within a week of getting it..

I own an Epi les paul and used to tour with it. They're pretty well-built guitars. Obviously not a true substitute for a Gibson, but it plays and feels great.

Granted mine has a malfunctioning neck pickup, but that's entirely my fault for being careless. I'll fix it eventually.

I paid $599 for the ebony. The natural was $425.

Nice guitar mate! I used to have a sheraton and it sounded amazing! The only issue I had with it was that it was a little neck heavy when using it with a strap standing up! Due to that HUGE headstock! ;-) looks good in natural too!

Cool guitar! I always wanted a white one. I had a Riviera for a while as a youngster. Add it to the list of guitars I should have never sold.
