What's in the box

Post by lukeswarm » Fri May 16, 2014 10:27 am

Hi

I recently brought a dual dark 50 off display (got a good discount). But I am curious as to what should have been in the box I.e. Manuals etc or just the power lead?

Regards

Shamefully, the buyer usually has to download his own manual from the Internet. There's precious little beside a great amp in these boxes.

But did you notice how the room glowed when you opened that box????? ;)

All of my new amps came with an Orange product catalog, a care/instructions manual, and an amp. The OR100 even had a cute little union jack flag pinned to the carry handle.

Would have been nice if they came with tea too. I had to settle with cider.

There often isn't a manual but it should be available from the website.... we definitely want to hear a review of the amp!

none of the Orange amps I unboxed when I worked at a music retailer included anything other than the amp and plenty of protective packaging. Even the power lead was often not included. (was on Rockerverbs, not on AD's)

Would love them to be like other manufactures that include a foot switch and amp cover. I'd pay an extra $100 for it if included at time of purchase. :)

Is it customary to not include a power cable now? That seems crazy to me.

when I was working at a retailer we never got anything other than the head in a block of foam. always had to throw in power cords that we stole out of the rental department.

Bit +1. Skinflints!

Seriously, that ain't impressive. You buy an electrical appliance you shouldn't have to go looking for a power cable to use it. You buy a quality amp you should be getting the whole damn works IMO. I got footswitches supplied with my channel switchers from other makes. Orange should do the same - no question.

Knew they didn't normally supply printed manuals. That's bad enough, but no power cable is just NUTS!

That's really, no manuals, with manuals, with or without power cord. That's so inconsistent !
