nirvana were great. kurt was a master at creating catchy pop music and masking it with loud rock.

I disagree with you about Cult of Luna. Anyone who knows anything knows that Eternal Kingdom is their best album

Have you heard Year of No Light? Fantastic band from France. You may dig them if you like CoL.
:D

Eternal Kingdom was, is amazing! Very cleverly written. If they'd made their 6th album like Somewhere Along the Highway (another awesome album, their best recorded other than Vertikal) and Eternal Kingdom, in a rural sense, I think it would have been a little too much in that direction. I love how they took a completely different path and went back in time to the 1920s then created something that would probably sound like in the future a hundred years later, 2020s.

They're very clever at what they do, very underrated.

I've not heard of those guys, I'll have to check them out! Much appreciated! :)

Speaking of Lanegan, Screaming Trees had a pretty giant hit in their own right. Though Homme capitalized on the guy very well, best Lanegan stuff IMO is with Greg Dulli. Gutter Twins "saturnalia" is a masterpiece, period. No doubt Sub Pop Records was a real catalyst for big radio play for a variety of styles that were kicking long before Nirvana and Green Day. No doubt the 90's were good for rockers, punkers, and alt music at large. And, if you got a deal then, you probably knew you hit the timing perfectly..... or figured it out in a few years. Cheers!

this is retarded.... morbid..... I can't believe Grohl is going along with it. Perhaps he's more abut cashing in than we previously thought?

At the RnR Hall of Fame Grohl said there are no plans for future Nirvana performances when asked. He's also in the middle of recording a new Foo Fighters album which usually is followed by a large tour.
