Holy crap, R30+Tele=SEX!
I've been trying out a Tele from a friend who's selling it, my gosh why have I waited so long to try a Telecaster through this amp?!?
Wait, that might not be entirely true after all.
I tried an old bandmember's Squier Telecaster a few years ago but that was a really cheap feeling and sounding guitar. The guitar I'm road testing now however, is damn well built. It's a heavy girl, but I'm convinced this is going to turn into a HNGD next week. Something about this Tele (modeled after a Broadcaster, I think) is just resonating really nicely with the R30 for what I'm playing! The dynamics and harmonics of the R30 with the Tele in every pickup-position, just wow!
Mind you, I own the combo version but haven't been using the stock V30 speaker for a while now. I've been outputting to just a 2x12 G12H30 cab instead. And my six string electric guitars are always loaded with .11-.54 strings. And now... Even my humbucker Strat that I've been playing since I started playing electric, is starting to feel dull now. I'm thinking of replacing the pickups on that to singlecoils or P90s.
So does anyone else here share my newfound love for Tele's on R30's?

I use this combo a lot. It's one of the best pure rock combos ever, as far as I'm concerned.
Re: Holy crap, R30+Tele=SEX!
I loved my Tele and my R30, one of the coolest time combos I've heard yet.

Teles and R30's are the pile of poop, I had a Squier Classic Vibe Tele, when played through the clean channel cranked it was instant Led Zep time...
I sold that Tele because I mainly play metal, one day a Tele will enter the house again...

It is amazing how some guitars play particularly through some amps. I find my vivier though fantastic through my RV50, is even better through my AD15. My LP is the opposite - great through the AD15, absolutely. Amazing through the RV50.
Both sounds greats through both, but they have a "best match".
Your photography is amazing, love those tele pics, they look incredible.

Thanks dudes! I'm surprised no one mentioned that black piece behind the bridge yet. It some type of hammer-on accessory that the previous owner is using, I'm leaving it on until my final decision is made. Ripping it off tomorrow though, since my minds made up and I'm buying this sweetheart...
I have to admit, I had been doubting the R30 for the past month in my band setting and wishing for a higher wattage amp instead... But this Tele totally woo'd me back into the R30 love!

I feel dirty just looking at that Tele. That is one ridiculously beautiful guitar. The neck looks perfect. You should take it slow until you've paid for her though.

Re: Holy crap, R30+Tele=SEX!
Not sure, I haven't asked about the origins of this guitar yet. But from what I've understood it's a parts-job, handpicked by a luthier to be modeled after a Broadcaster. Definitely not an original.OrangePaul wrote:I only just spotted its a Broadcaster too!
Is it a replica?
It sounds and feels wicked though
Re: Holy crap, R30+Tele=SEX!
I have a American Standard Tele, and it does sound good. It does not however (IMO), come close to my LP Studio.
The clarity/twang of a Tele does well to battle the darkness/slight muddiness of an Orange amp. But the thick tone from a LP/LPJ going through a mid heavy Orange amp just can't be beat.
I think the best thing to say is that, any decent guitar will sound good through an Orange amp

How does the "hammer-on accessory" work?
