new amp order [not fruit]

Post by sidvicious » Mon Apr 14, 2014 4:02 am

just ordered a fuchs four aces head. basically a 4 watt dumble clone and very, very [yes - two "verys'] cool. i'll give a report.

i'm doing some recording and slowly building a workflow with iso's, guitars, and a set of amps, etc. it's taking a while. i've got an idea in mind and its time consuming.

here's a quick demo from andy fuchs. pretty cool fellow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj1sxPseHV0

oh, i played a fender twin mod he did, and it sounded fantastic. i'm sending him a fender deluxe to do for me. might as well because i never use it.

Definitely report back. I was very, very close to buying either the 21 Black Jack or 50 Full House until I found my 40th Anni OR50 used. I bet the whole line sounds fantastic.

the casino line is, i think, the bomb, and will likely make a statement.

the modded twin i played was magical. fuchs offers the lucky 7 model with a single el34 in the power stage. after the four aces, its likely my next purchase.

i'll do some clips when i get the aces and give a review as best i can.

cheers, mates,

sv

[one thing about the casino line, and fuchs' other models - consistency among the line. the same features on various power platforms. ever tried to figure out what's what in marshall circuitry? even orange is confusing. fender, same damn way.]

oh, and randy will remember this, i think. i've been saying for some time orange should do combo's with digital reverb. well, that's just what fuchs did. its getting raves from the crowd. just sayin.............

Digital Reverb is a great option when space is at a premium, which is the case with the small box Orange heads like the Rocker 30, AD30HTC, OR50, and TH30. I think the CR120H has digital reverb among its' built-in effects, so there is one at least.

The Lucky 7 sounds appealing to me, as you may remember me suggesting on more than one occasion that Orange should do a single-ended 1xEL34 design. :D
