AD 15/12 speaker replacement

Hi everyone
Is there anyone out there who has changed the stock V30 for another speaker? In that case, which speaker did you use and why? I'm thinking of changing the speaker for G12H, but not sure about going for a heritage or 70th anniversary. Any thoughts?

I too have an ad15/12 I changed the v30 out as soon as I could! I feel the V30 doesnt break up fast enough and the bottom end is too tight for the ad15. I've ran both G12H 30 watt greenback and alnico blue 15 watt with my ad15 and both sound Great! I would recommend either of those. The alnico blue is more expensive but a great speaker. The alnico isn't for everyone so if you never played through one maybe stick to a G12H greenback. You ever run yours through a 2x12 cab? That's my favorite way to rock the AD15, it really brings the amp to life! Goodluck and it's great to see fellow AD15 users...Such a great little amp!

Yeah, probably I'll stick to the G12H, I have some experience with alnicos, but fane, never celestion though. I'd like it sounding more 70's than it does with the V30, looser bottom and top end than I have now. Haven't been able to try it yet with a 2x12, but must be great, I'd like to add another 1x12 cab to it as soon as I can, but first the internal speaker. Thanks again!

Yeah go for the G12H I don't think you'll regret it. It will definitely give you a looser 70's style sound. It's exactly what I was after, I happened to get really lucky when I was looking for the G12H speakers as I scored some 12 inch 1972 30 watt green backs! Can't get anymore 70's than that. It's unreal how much an AD series amp can be dialed in to sound like a vintage amp. Best Part About those speakers too Is they are actually Branded "Orange" on the back of the speaker, It's really neat they must have had celestion making them custom speakers for a short while in the 70's. I can post a Picture If you or Anyone is interested in seeing them. I think there a cool part of Orange History.
