what color pickguard for sonic blue strat

Post by jeffp » Wed Jan 08, 2014 2:06 pm

I need help. I looked on internet last night for sonic blue strat with creme pickguard. Looking for a good matchup. I clicked on an image and it brought me to orange amp site. Listed a color chart shown by a member(senior member) to another. Perfect examples! Woke up this morning and can`t find it! I remember three of the four colors...Parchment,creme,aged white and another i can`t remember. Tried searching forum.Need to see that chart again! No luck. Not good with computer. I have to find it!

I did mint green on my 82 reissue Fiesta Red Strat. Looked great. I think I would want to bring the guitar and compare pickguards in person, that said, parchment or mint green would look awesome on sonic blue...

If i had a rosewood intead of maple fretboard I would go for it but i have maple and i think aged white, or even vintage creme might be groovy!

Mint green looks great on anything. I have it on my 3TSB strat

It's very subtle but looks great

Mint all the way!

I like mint better than parchment (especially when paired with parchment pickup covers). The two types of plastics were different in the early-ish fender years, so they did not visually age the same. The mint/parchment combo for pickguard/pickup covers is closest to what a 60s strat looks like today (I believe).

IMO with sonic blue, the only acceptable alternative to mint is tort!

I personally like the white pearl pickguards on blues and blacks. But that doesn't mean all of them don't look cool! :)

I prefer something closer to white or creme unless the guitar is really old or reliced.

How about a color swatch w/sonic Blue as inside border?the orange juicer did it in the Creme or Parchment topic in June 2007. And it's a great thread. I sent a PM. I hope he gets it. I'm not good at computer stuff. It was a "matched quad" with Parchment, vintage cream, mint green and aged white! Exactly what the doctor ordered for another forum member looking to match up with Daphne Blue. Are you there orange juicer? Thanks for all feedback from all. I will wake up this guitar. It's got the best neck(90 strat plus) I know of any strat! Are vintage white pick guards available? Thanks guys!

Just check with WD Music to see what colors are available. They have everything imaginable and they do a really good job with custom pickguards.

I'm going way out there! I ordered a vintage tortoise from all parts. If it doesn't work out I'll save it for another strat I have later. I will also send the parchment back for Creme. One of these should work. Does anyone know the difference between the vintage and the standard? I'm thinking the vintage is a little lighter than the norm tortoise?Less bright?
