TH30 and Greenbacks?

Post by BrentD » Thu Dec 05, 2013 12:39 am

Has anyone played a TH30 through Greenbacks? I usually go for a low to mid gain setting and I don't scoop much. I like what I'm getting out of a 1960B and also a PPC212OB but I have been jonesing for a 1960AX with the checkerboard cloth. I like Greenbacks with vintage-styled Marshalls but I haven't tried them with my TH30.

I play my or50 with creambacks and it sounds good. They are suppose to sound like greenbacks but 65 watts power handling

Greenbacks as in G12M-25s? (Many G12H30s were also 'Greenbacks'!)

Yeah, if you like moderate 'vintage' gain, plenty mids and don't need ultimate volume levels you should like the 25s. For more bass & treble, still great mids, couple of decibels more efficiency, the 30s are probably better - my favourite all rounders with Oranges.
