Re: screws are getting loose....
Get a wooden toothpick - insert it into the hole with some wood glue and break it off flush - then reinstall the strap button and screw.
Is this a stock strap button or a Straplock?

Re: screws are getting loose....
it´s a stock strap button......but i always used beer rubber seals.....and i think that they had enough grip to turn the screw a bit out and stretch the hole then.
maybe i should also lube the rubber seal a bit?
i will give the toothpick+woodglue a try....
thanks a lot
(btw lube rubber hole stretch screw....i fear this thread could easily be turned into another direction)

+2. Works like a charm. I like to break it to length and out the fat end in first, with the skinny end at the top of the whole. That way you have more room to start the screw and it gets tighter as it goes in deeper. Ok, I know how that sounds. It wasn't intentional. Pigs!

Re: screws are getting loose....
Yeap, did that to my 1st guitar in 94 or 95, I still haven't had a problem with it since. Didn't even put any glue, the tooth pick dowel (might have been a match even??) is enough for the screw to be gripped tightly in its hole.a.hun wrote:+1. Re: screws are getting loose....
Loose strap screw is a common issue.
To avoid this, the first thing is to rescrew it reguraly (eg as you change strings) to avoid any move.
If it's too late and the screw already starts to be loose, the toothpick with wood glue in is the secret.
