None. Orange doesn't really do metal as well as other amps that are designed for that purpose. Having said that, I think the Thunder series would be the closest to a metal sound, but no cigar.

Do you mean old school metal (80's vibe) or modern technical metal?
My Rocker30 suits old school metal very well.
Current production models: Rockerverb will do the trick.

Jim Root gets a pretty good metal tone from his RV 100. I've heard some sick metal tones from a TV 200 as well. ( Zoroaster )

My th30 can push out some pretty good metal tones but i think if i were to play metal all the time i would need to get a eq pedal. The low end can get a bit mushy with my little 1x12.

TH100 definitely does metal, as does the OR15 IMO.

I play mostly metal and love my TH30! I've had Marshalls and a Mesa Roadster in the past and I prefer the Orange.

With the amount of gain and the availability of extremely modern scooped tones (clockwise on the shape knob, it gets too modern for my taste if you go all the way), the only thing holding you back should be your own chops

I don't know if you're familiar with the band Sylosis, but they use the Thunder series (200 and 50 live, I've seen them with a TH30 at home as well) mixed with some Marshalls and they have some of the best metal tones I've ever heard. Orange is really growing in the metal community.

Put a pedal infront of it and they can all "do metal".

I'd say the TH30/100 or the Dark Terror. Any of them with a shape knob. That will get you any metal sound you want from 70's to Death Metal in one control. I like it pointed at the 2 o'clock, kind of gives it that rock to stoner rock sound. But hey, you can't go wrong with any Orange amp. You can check out my bands facebook page if you want to hear what the TH100 and the Dark Terror sounds like on our songs.

You speak the truth.

I finally found a use for the scoop switch on my Pocket Metal Muff. It was useless on my other amp, which had a full 3-band eq plus presence. I still find the second position (maximum scoop) useless.

The Rocktron Zombie is also good, for a more modern sound.

There are some metal clips of the TH30 in this review with a few other tones. The sound quality is better than most with this one
