Delay Recommendations

Hello, it's been a while since I posted here for the last time, but well. My brother is traveling today to the US and he's gonna bring me a delay pedal (buying it here would be like three to four times more expensive). I have a RV100, and I'm looking for a warm analog delay. My first option is the MXR Carbon Copy. The question here is: Is there any other delay pedal that you guys would recommend over the carbon copy in this price range ($150-180)?

Thanks!

In that price range, the Carbon Copy is one of the best. You might check out the Way Huge Aqua Puss or the Electro Harmonix Memory Boy. The Lovepedal Echophonic Jr. is nice too.

Hahaha yes!!!! Let's make it fun!! My vote goes to the malekko 616. It has an amazing warmth to it and the built in chorus is really lush as well. I am not a big fun of multi purpose effect unit but when I saw the ProGuitarShop review of it I was sold. Now it is supposed to be true bypass, but it is not! It has a 'true bypass' button but in either on/off it colors the sound. But I use a radial loop pedal in front of it which completely takes it out of the signal.

Try it!! Exactly $150 and Gc now has it so you can try it and give it back if you dislike it. And be sure to check the ProGuitarShop demo on it. You can even make it sould like a leslie which is just fantastic.

I would also say go with the Carbon Copy. It's one of the most popular out there, and like everyone else said, for that price range, that's what I'd go for. Though I have a RV 100 and us a Line 6 DL4 with it. If you had a higher budget or didn't mind used, there are a ton of options on that guy, and it sounds great with my RV.

But Yeah. Carbon copy.

Memory Boy or Carbon Copy. They each sound a little different. The Carbon Copy may be a little warmer, while the Memory Boy has that unmistakeable Memory Man sound. Both are great, and you can't go wrong with either, both classic pedals.

Personally I'd try to find something with a tap tempo. Especially if you're going to use thick delay sounds. I think all timing based effects should have a tap tempo.

It does make it a lot easier - beside slap back, I find tap tempo undispensable.

Would the way huge supa puss come within your budget?

I'd say get the Carbon Copy. Pedals with tap tempo might stretch your budget a bit much... As in; it's not a cheap addition.

Although it is digital, my Lovepedal Gen5 Echo sounds analog and has a fantastic vibrato and has a boost to control the output, great DMM type delay.

Moogerfooger MF-104m. It's not a long delay, but it's the most amazing delay I've ever used.
