Just had my ears micro-suctioned...

...and everything sounds great :D
Even car engines as i was crossing the road from the hospital afterwards sounded really sweet and I've just been playing a couple of my guitars unplugged.

My tinnitus is still there but now very much more in the background. Basically it was impacted wax which came out of each ear looking like a dark brown slug after using olive oil for 10 days, on the end of this small suction tube.

I'm in my mid 40's and have never had conventional ear syringing so i cant can't compare lol but I just wanted to let you guys know this is a great procedure for any of you out there suffering ear wax problems. It is quite loud and uncomfortable for a short moment but I came out feeling great and thankfully after years of abuse my ear drums still look healthy the nurse said.

I did actually have my ears syringed with water a couple years ago. Bit painful, but certainly improved my hearing.

Maybe my ears are needing a 1/2 century tune up too.

I'll pass on the purifying colonic though...

How does it work, Paul? Do you just rock up to the doctor and ask if you can get it done?

The Doctor at my health centre examined me a few weeks ago and said he couldn't see my ear drums due to the amount of wax in there. He had said they were going to book me in for syringing but somewhere along the way they must have decided to refer me to the ear, nose and throat specialists for this microsuction, maybe because it was the 2nd time I'd been in about my tinnitus.

I can still hear the tinnitus now as I type this in my near silent room but driving home in my relatively quiet car I couldn't and it had got to the stage before where I could..

Couple of things you shouldn't do with ears is clean them with cotton buds because you can damage the lining of the ear canal which naturally cleans your ears as wax passes along it. And something I used to do which is to tip my head on one side just for a moment under the shower to wash them out with a bit of water

See post above :)

Edit: if you ask for a referral at your docs you will be seen by a ENT specialist which I think is the standard procedure they use for wax removal.

you can buy ear wax drops to loosen the ear wax

then buy a water syringe and spray the water into your ears yourself

doc is not gonna syringe differently

anyone of a nervous disposition might be advised not to watch actually

This microsuction is a fairly new technique tho i think, which is more like having your ears vacuumed out.

you want to have some ear wax in your ear for the biotic processes, this stuff is only for the clogged ear thing, but maybe in extreme cases new technology is needed

This is a good point. If your ears are fine then "if it aint broke dont fix it" approach is good advice. But if you think your ears aren't feeling normal then get them checked out by your Doctor is my advice.
