THE OR100H – CLASSIC ORANGE STYLING AND TONE
The new OR100H from Orange Amplification can simply be summed up in one word ‘Stunning’! This top of the range guitar amp is the first OR model to feature two channels and delivers up to 100 watts of incredible Orange tone making it the crown jewel of the OR series.

Drawing on the heritage of the original and iconic ‘Pics Only’ launched in 1972, the new OR100H has taken the best of the original features in terms of tone, construction and design and uses today’s expertise to create a guitar amp of epic proportions. Better still, the new amp utilises the very best valve technology to create a tone that is so very special!

The OR100H incorporates for the first time on an ‘OR’ series amp; twin channels, as well as a valve driven FX loop, foot-switchable boosts and independent EQ. The output power can be scaled between 100,70,50 and 30 watts, plus there is a choice of clean and dirty channels.

As well as being one of the most versatile and dynamic amps Orange has ever made, the OR100H delivers a classic tone that is unique to Orange; a sound that so many famous artists describe as ‘the holy grail’ of tones!

Now THAT does sound a bit brilliant!!!!

clean channel + dirty channel + dirty channel boost?????

That gain boost is only feature I wish my RV50 had.
The only missing thing would be the reverb but with the FX loop, that wouldn't be a problem!!!!

Man, I hope I never try it, and if, accidently, I did, I hope I won't like it......

Dunno. Still no FAC, Presence. ?No Baxandall EQ either.
Pity, that might have made it a real OR! :?

If you've never used these you'd not miss them, but some of us have and will probably always see it as another missed opportunity. See here:

Still, dare say it'll be a most nice amp...

Very cool, I wo der how much different it will be from the current OR50.. The second channel appears to be non master volume. Very cool as well the 100, 70, 50 and 30 watt options. Makes it much more manageable. Maybe some of you guys do but rarely do I ever need to crank 100 watts.

Also I wonder how the power scaling will change dynamics. I know IMO on the OR15 there is a difference in tone and feel from 15 watt to 7 watt. I personally like the 7 watt better but usually feel that I need the full 15 when playing live.

Thanks Andy
Pretty interesting little history lesson.
Why do you think they refuse to truly reproduce a amp with this type of circuit?

^^^^ +10 on the above.

I was thinking the same thing. I mean after all those two feautees were always what was so particualr about the OR50 to me. That would have been my next amp for sure.

I guess we'll have to wait and see the other five

Looks great! Even happier now to be getting divorced, no missus telling me "NO" when I want to buy one!

Seriously though, would love to try one out!

I don't know. I just think it is a pity seeing as they were so effective. The old ORs had their faults - like sounding rubbish at lower volumes. But the tone controls were very effective indeed making for surprisingly versatile amps.

Still, gives old grouches like me something to grouch about!

i mean, it looks cool on paper, but something tells me this is going to sound more like the OR15 than the OR50 (and certainly the OR80/120).

still waiting for the R30RI...

Sounds like they're at least listening to their customers. They've addressed some of the issues floated around. I wish my RV had power scaling, that would be fantastic. I'll consider this in a couple of years. After its been arou d for a while and available second hand. I'm not rich enough to pay retail.
