if the gain is too hight, it never will. the loop would be the way to go.

yes. that plus delay and reverb are primarily what FX loops are for.

yupp i use a hi gain setting so i can't get a boost in the front, so if i put in the fx loop i will not have any problem right?

Shouldn't kill anything in the amp. Bt be careful with the boost levels as you won't get any preamp compression and things might get a lot louder!

Worth checking the impedance in the loop and the pedal also...

On days thats u dont feel like using the effects loop or if it doesnt work for you, the could set up an overdrive pedal to provide lead sounds when used with the clean channel ....the Fulltone OCD sounds superb used like this

Thats what I do with my AD30, which does nt have an effects loop

an EQ could do the trick or a boost not too clean (like my AMZ for that with my RV)

I run a clean boost in the loop of my RV50. Works great. It doesn't change the tone or add dirt. Just a slight volume boost.

i built an LMB-1 clone...well two...

i keep one out front for goosing the clean channel, or for a boost when soloing on the clean channel..
and
i keep one in the loop...i keep the gain high on my amp...with it in the loop (serial) i can boost my dirty signal to get a louder distorted tone for solos...if you keep it in front, like they said...it'll only make it dirtier...

when placing it in the loop though...remember to play around with the settings a bit (ie the volume and MV)...keep the MV up and the channel volume lower, that way...you aren't goosing the power tubes creating different dirt...

yeah, I had the same issue. I use an ep boost for solos-doesnt do dongle-narf until I have my booster going through my fx. Good thing is, you can add your phase and delay fx in at the same time. They have a great loop the only problem being MORE CABLES! which leads me to another post

Yep, I use an MXR 401 Line Booster in the loop of my DkT, it gives me a bit more volume for solos, but doesn't add any more gain - as Les Paul Lover will tell you, I don't need any more gain ;)

Too much gain is... just about enough
