its been a while... merry christmas! lookie what I got!

Hey guys, it's been a long time since I've been here, but to be honest I haven't played as much over the past 2 years as I used too. I still play in a band and we practice 6-8 times a month, but lifes a changing and I've been having less and less time. Especially since my other hobby has started to turn into a part time profession (photography.)
but this year, my wife did something I never expected. She knows how crazy I have been s for 5 different pieces of guitar gear... a Vox AC30, a Gibson ES335, a Gretsch Jet, an Orange AD30TC, and a Gibson RD. Well I got all of them now.

sounds fantastic through my AD30! The natural darkness and throatiness of the AD just screams with the all maple body and 25 1/2" scale length. This thing is nuts!

Wow that is a beauty....I know nothing about the Gibson RD but feel I need to find out more

it's a pretty unique guitar, but a lot of fun to play. The frets are pretty much flat, and its like that across the whole board, so I'm unsure if thats how they were or not...I've been told the Customs were fretless wonders so I'm going to go with that. Surprisingly enough, the flatter frets work well and I find them not to be an issue at all. The mpale on maple just sings, and cuts like a knife, it can be a bit harsh through the AC30, but thats until one figures out how to use the control system. Its actually got an active EQ system in it designed by Moog. So the tone knobs aren't your normal tone knobs, one controls bass, one controls treble, and when the controls are @ 5 the guitar would be similar to how a LP would be with the tone knobs cranked. So once I figured that out its really controllable.
It's like a really angry telecaster more than any Gibson. And its so bloody comfortable to play, it is surprisingly well balanced. and even though it looks long and huge, the case is no longer than my PRS Custom 24.

that bound neck is awesome, and i love trans brown on a guitar. obviously.
