NCD! Matamp compact 4x12

I haven't posted in a while but thought you guys would be interested in my new purchase!



It's smaller than a normal 4x12 (26 x 26 x 15 inches), almost exactly the same as the new Orange compact PPC412.
The only differences between this and the Orange is that this has 4 greenbacks instead of the no name speakers in the Orange, it was hand built in the UK and cost me less than half what the Orange goes for new! Granted, it was second hand but it looks like it's fresh out the factory.

I've not had a chance to properly play it yet but I have a show tonight with my band so I'll see how it holds up; I'm looking forward to using it together with my PPC212 as I think the greenbacks and V30s will work well together.

cool i saw this cab on facebook... i still cant believe how much of a bargain used matamp stuff is...
the cab sounds totally AWESOME. its such a pleasure. i bought my matamp compact 4x12 used and i still had to break it in... after a few month it sounded fantastic even with the v30s in it.

i think its one of the best cabs ever, seriously. i also have an engl 2x12 which collects dust because of the matamp 4x12. 4x12 tone with smaller size and weight. who could not love that?

It would even be small enough to use in the house too I reckon..

I'm sure if I moved the Mesa combo out of the lounge and that in its place the Mrs would hardly notice a difference

Here's a photo of the cab with my PPC212 and Rocker 30, for size comparison.




I used it at a small club show the other night with the 2x12 as well, and the volume and gain on the Rocker 30 at 12 o'clock. It was loud.

Thanks a lot man. Yeh, it was all done with just the guitar straight into the Rocker then a mix of the PPC212 cab with Vintage 30s and a Marshall 1x12 Haze cab that sounds surprisingly good!
