Orange Content: Graveyard - Lights Out (2012) Released Today

Post by Alex Sheeny » Thu Oct 25, 2012 9:18 pm

I just had the opportunity to hear their new album yesterday and it's still giving me the chills. I just couldn't believe the voice range of Joakim Nilsson (guitar/vocals).

Here's one of the new songs that weren't released until yesterday:

This is one of the greatest records I've ever heard, and to feel that again with a new band releasing a new album is freaking great. I mean, in many years I've only felt this thing so badly with old records I discovered (like Dark - Round The Edges, for instance).

Listening to it right now. Another great album, one of the best bands I've discovered in the last few years.

Jeez! I'm not even tired of Hisingen Blues yet. These guys need to stop being so awesome.

speaking of PENTAGRAM, they're trying to find a new guitarist with their early years influence to rehearse in Europe. The guitarist must be in USA and preferable near DC. I'd totally try it if I were in the US.

The documentary called Last Days Here about Pentagram's reunion is amazing to watch. Bobby Liebling was so far gone on drugs it's amazing he managed to got himself out of it. He was digging ditches into his own arms to get the "parasites" out... I kept thinking the documentary was going to end with him dying the whole time I was watching it.

The documentary Last Days Here is freaking touching man. He was through some crazy pile of poop there. Hopefully Pellet was there to save the man. You can find him (pellet) on facebook, the guy is superb.

The "Last days here" documentary is one of the best band movies I've seen in my entire life. 2nd is the Anvil movie.

Back on topic:

Graveyard's new album, bought it yesterday without even listened to it first, I'm actually still listening to their debut album, which was more "evil" or "satanic" sounding than their follow up... But I know it will kick ass!!

Graveyard is awesome. I really like the Sword too...somewhat in that genre/stoner metal. Graveyards sound is more unique in their own right though. Also if anyone is in the NYC area the sword is playing NOV 14. I know the guitarist used to used the RV 100 live for a while.

+1

I've been so lucky. I've seen them play live quite a few times, and I even hung with them backstage for about an hour in Atlanta. I accidentally saw them play in 08' when they opened for Clutch. I went to see Clutch, and arrived about midway through the Graveyard's opening set........literally before I even made my way near the stage I knew that this band was special, and I had to get up close for a better look. These guys blew me away so much that night that I barely even noticed the next two bands that played after them. (The Sword and Clutch)

I immediately bought their first and only album at the time and I've been hooked ever since. They're my number 1 listen right now. I was so excited to see them finally start getting some acclaim. I just had a fear that they would be overlooked and fade away due to not fitting the mold. I hope they stick around for decades.

Here is me and Axel

and the rest of the band........(I'm the short-haired guy......I had just cut my hair or I would have fit in much better as it was at my shoulders)

The PBR was always within reach

Their record label took the link down, but here's a link of their new clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKfv81O-6FA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I was afraid too they wouldn't make it, but somehow I always knew that they were too good to be unknown forever, mostly because we're on internet days and it's much easier to have access to this kind of stuff. but aside that Nuclear Blast seems to be doing a great commercial work for them. They we're also featured as soundtrack in a couple of skate videos and in the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, which was done by Trent Reznor.
