Buying, Selling, Trading annoyances!

Post by Jondog » Mon Oct 15, 2012 12:16 pm

-Sellers who want to sell their entire pedal board and effects as a unit. Your price is insane, I don't want your entire board, and you'd get more money selling seperately and probably a quicker sale

-Buyers who don't see a good deal when it's right in front of their face and try to talk down the price after price is listed as FIRM, even for $5

-Sellers who sell there USED gear at new price because it's in MINT condition...why don't I just buy a new one with warranty?

-Selling your RARE and VINTAGE tube amp for the price of RARE and VINTAGE Fender or Marshall even though you don't know the name of it, it's made from MDF, is missing a knob, missing a handle, powers up but crackles and looks like the dog was using it as a fire hydrant and looks like it has a chincey 5 watt speaker in it. Give it away or throw it out.

-Traders who want me to surrender cash on a trade they initially offered because their gear is worth more a little more, how about no, you want my gear, I'm not desperate for yours.

-Traders who can't read NO TRADES in an ad. I don't want your Collectors edition Epiphone Zakk Wylde Les Paul with upgraded pickups for my PRS McCarty.

Have you tried anything besides beefs? I've had good luck selling chickens on Craigslist  .

I think all of the scenarios that you listed are quite common and are indicative of the ongoing decline of civilization. Peeple r dum.

you forgot to mention the jokers that make you an offer and set up a date to collect said item and then don't show. I have been selling an acoustic of mine for a while now, and had 7 people make offers that I have accepted and then when it comes time for them to show up you never hear from them again. That gets me a tad upset from time to time, especially if I rearrange my plans to ensure that I am available to meet with them at their convenience. If you are not serious then why waste peoples time.

and this time of year it is easier to sell turkey's on craigslist, well in canada anyways lol, but thanksgiving is coming up south of the border soon enough so I imagine they will be all over Craigslist soon enough

Speaking of poultry... has anyone here ever seen this movie?

Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462485/

Yes, it's just as ridiculous as it sounds!

I think it's allowed on the Forum so long as there's no buying, selling, or trading. This isn't the best place to swap meat.

The biggest annoyance, by far, is the fact that individual differences creates inherent inconsistencies of how sellers "rate" their items. One seller may rate something "9/10," while another (who has more knowledge/background) will rate it "6/10." I'm currently looking for a motorcycle, and I really have to rely on these things because there's nothing local. It sucks so much ass, because like Forest Gump would say, "you never know what yo' gonna get."

Aside from something that is never going to change, the thing that PISSES me off, is that as a seller, I get emails asking me to call the buyer. LOL, NO. That is not how it works. The buyer calls the seller, and that's how it's always worked. My job is not to be a salesman over craigslist. The fact that you gave me your number proves you are legit, which is a good thing--But don't tell me to call you.

That's by far, my biggest annoyance. I always reply back with my phone number telling them to call me.
