So I own an orange ad 140 in great condition but now I realized I need more gain so I put it on craigslist for trade for a rockerverb....then somebody responded and offered me an orange rockerverb 100 mk 2 plus 300 dollars...it sounds too good to be true...so I'm wondering if people make fake orange amplifiers and if so how do you spot a fake one

I'm not an expert but I have never heard of fake orange amps. Just meet the guy and check it out. As long as he actually has an amp and does not want to have his shipping agent pick it up then you should be fine. I just sold my AD5 on CL today.

it does sound too good to be true. but then again it is craigslist. could be somebody who has absolutely no clue what those things are worth. i'd try to find out more info, get pics, etc.

Dunno - AD140 are quite rare, RV100 relatively speaking plentyful.

If that person has tried to obtain a few in the past, they may have a better idea than you do how much they're worth?

Obviously, be careful re: shipping agent whatever.... but could just be a a fair deal on the good side for you!
