d'addario all the way! I've tried every string known to man, and they sound great, and retain their tone the longest throughout the wearing process, and they are super affordable. Can't go wrong.

That's what I used before I decided to try the EB Cobalts. That is what I'll be going back to.

Yeah, as stupid as that is, it still works out to be a deal. I'm going to change the heading from EB to GC/MF.

On the positive side, the last time I ordered strings from MF, I ordered 1 12 pack of Regular Slinkys and 1 12 pack of Super Slinkys. Whoever packed the ordered used 4 12 packs of Regular Slinkys as packing material. I double-checked my order and payment - they only charged me for 2 boxes... sweet deal. I still haven't gone through all 5 packs of Regular Slinkys yet....

That's a good score. maybe they're trying to make up that loss with their pricing.

EB Slinkys are the only thing I use.

Heavy Bottom Slinkys for the Les Paul (better intonation and it pulls out the Les Paul tone the best) and Regular Slinkys for everything else.

I use the heavy bottoms on everything, they rock.

Slinkys are the only strings I've found to be consistently good. I've been using them since 1970 and I've only had one instance where I had any sort of dead string and it was a single I bought from a store and had probably been sitting for centuries...

On the other hand, I had a brand new set of D'Addario's that was dead right out of the package. Never again....

Sod's law really Billy. I have had exactly zero problems over the years with D'Addarios. I use them for almost all my instruments, so bass, electric, acoustic + nylon. Never one single duffer. I find I prefer Fenders on one of my basses, but apart from that it is D'Addarios all the way for me and has been for decades too.

For bass I changed to them from Rotosound early on after having one single duff set of strings. With good bass strings being so expensive that did it for me. I know that was a temporary blip from Rotosound, but have simply never changed back.

Funny how that sort of thing can colour your opinion and define your buying tastes for many years after!

All it takes is one... especially when you didn't have any replacements handy and had to gig with dead strings...

I use Fender Short Scale Bass Strings for my basses...

Happy d'addario user here... have been for about a decade also. Just found they worked fine for me, so didn't look any further than that! Friends use EBs etc...

Any love for GHS? A lot of pros seem to like them.

Regular Slinky user here. I'll probably put some 11s on the Jaguar soon though. Regula Slinky's on the LP though. I've just never really thought about switching brands. I've always been happy with the strings.
