found an all tube 25w combo amp in the trash this morning...

wow, ironically iv been looking for one of these to buy off and on for the last year and i just happen to find one on the side of the road

I was driving along this morning and saw a pile of furniture out for trash, a nice small computer desk caught my eye, I banged a u turn to see if it might fit in my car, under all the stuff i saw the top of an amp, once i dug it out i forgot all about the desk, holy sh1t!!! a Peavey Bravo 112. years ago (late 90's) I had one of these and I sold it and missed it ever since and for the last year I sometimes search on Ebay and Craigslist with no luck, and today i found one???

i got home and plugged it in and it had no power, i opened it up and the internal fuse was blown. walla!!! shes sounds awesome...

this is an all tube, 2 channel with reverb.

Thanks, I'm pretty stoaked, Iv been needing a practice amp for at home, Iv been using an old Park Solid state at home, not a bad amp BUT! nothing like tubes. Practice at home just got 120% more fun... this will be great for recording too

Yeah, and the oddest part, the original one i had in the late 90's was also "found in the trash", a buddy of mine was working for a company that cleaned out old houses and he gave it to me. It looked like dog had chewed up some of the tolex and wood one one side, but it sounded great, I used it for a few years and to this day don't know what made me sell it?

i feel like i won a lottery ticket!!!

this amp does have one issue, may explain the blown fuse?

on the Dirty Channel with the pre knob pulled (plugged into "high gain") she makes a feedback sorta squealing/whistling sound?? its not feedback. it only does it at all out full gain. if i turn down even the guitar volume half way it goes away.

all the tubes look ok, visually?

any ideas?

a really high pitched squeel? unmusical feedback?

could be unpotted pickups - if it is, move far away from the amp and turn your back on it, should go away a little.

could also be microphonic preamp tubes. not uncommon in combos.

i'd take the tubes out and put them back in - make sure they're seated properly.

Like Sir Will says, either the pickups are giving you issue, or my guess, oscillation in the amp somewhere.
