Hey people,
i have the choice which i have to make up this week and can't decide on which amp to pick. Should i go the AD30TC or the AD140TC??? Money isn't an issue. I do smallish gigs and large gigs as well and i have no problem playing pretty loud. I use a '77 LP Deluxe with humbuckers and Dimarzio and like that Oasis type sound. There is also an Overdrive model in the shop as well. I am gonna buy the 4X12 cabinet. I play through a tube screamer as well. Can somebody help me out!!!???? Which is the best sound for what i need?? is one more reliable??

The AD30 is a class A amp, and the AD140 is an A/B class.
The A class will give the same tone at any volume level, while the A/B will change as it gets louder.
If money is not an issue I'd get both. If you always mic an amp, the 30 might be better. Hard decision.

Get the 140!
I love mine. I mean, what do we get half stacks for anyway?
If it's too loud , put earplugs in.....
Mine might be a little different as it is the single channel hand wire thingy.
The 30s have a bit more sparkle, where the 140s have more bottom(BIG BOTTOM......)
Louder is better!

If money is no object, go with the 140 half-stack. How's your back, cause these things are heavy...

you might want to go with the 30 and spend the money you save on a nice roadcase... Billy

thanks for the help,
i guess i'll go for the ad30tc! I play in a band from melbourne at all the normal pubs, i think our website is on my link somewhere or something. I'm in london now and we've done a couple of gigs and it's way cheaper to buy orange stuff here and get it shipped over to australia rather than buy it in oz.
i'll try em' all out again and as long as the ad30tc can go pretty fuckin loud then i'll be happy with that.
cheers and i'll probably be on here again.

I first bought the ad30 but then took it just wasn't loud enough..so i got the ad140..i love both of them..i kinda like the sound of the ad30 more..it has a little bit of that orange character to it where the notes just sing..and the ad140 has more bottom to it and it vibrates things more..and i like that about it...you can't go wrong with either of them..if i could i would get both.

Hey-
If you want %$#&* loud , then the 140 is the only way to go
short of a Matamp KT200.

I'll have to go with what I got.....the AD30 is the way to go. Unless......you can get an older "Overdrive 120" off ebay or something like that.....mmmmm...now you're talkin'.

Depends on the gigs you play...just like everyone is saying. Both fantastic amps. The 140 is a kick-a$$ amp and the AD30 is the smaller version that might be suited to venues where you are mic'd a lot.

The nice thing about having the 30 is that you can get away with cranking it up on stage and not have the sound guy breathing down your neck to turn it down. The 140 would be operating at a much lower volume in the same circumstance and might not be able to pull all the great higher-volume tones out of it that you would like.

Its all down to where you play, says I.

Play all of them and decide which one you like the best. If I had a chance to get the Overdrive I would snatch it up in a heartbeat.

Guys, this post was over 2 years ago... probably best to let it lie unless the original poster updates it!
