I'm shuddering at some of these ideas but kids like this stuff:
Ramones (not shuddering at this)
Nirvana (not shuddering)
Foo Fighters easier stuff (not shuddering)
White Stripes easier stuff (not shuddering)
Green Day (sort of shuddering)
Weezer (sort of shuddering)
Blink 182 (definitely shuddering)
Basically, if it's not classic rock you're probably going to need to stick to the alternative/pop punk stuff I'd think. I think you could mix in contemporary "teeny" rock hits with some classic 4 chord stuff that they may like such as Beatles, Kinks, Who, Tom Petty, etc. that could open their mind to exploring a wider range of music.

The Ramones are cool with the kids & there's a few 4 chord wonders in there.

You have to get jiggy with the strummin' on some but 'I Want You Around' & 'Needles & Pins' are good old fashioned strum-alongs
