sounds Fantastic through my AD30HTC .....and I thought it was broken....
Sorting through a cupboard and came across a UK made fuzz pedal called the D.A.M Dragon fly - I know it was a quality pedal when I bought it new (for about £130 5 years ago) thought Id give it a go despite a tone knob having been knocked off and Wow ....it sounds superb on channel 1 with the Amp set fairly clean....Well Chuffed
Has any body else had a simlilar experiences where a new guitar or Amp has led you to rediscover that forgotten effects pedal ?
Blimey .....that fuzz thats been in a cupboard for 3 yrs..

Yes! My old Analogman Comprossor didn't do that much for me but one day i plugged my pedal board into my ad30tc, accidentaly the only pedal that was on was the Comprossor (which was set in an unorthodox way due to transport) The tone was amazing! Fat mellow crunch that lasted for days.

HAHA. If you do some searching here on these boards you'll find Teddy had gone on a very extensive fuzz tone search and found like only two pedals that worked for him.savage8190 wrote:fuzz? ad30? fantastic? ...I must be doing something wrong. My AD HATES fuzz.
I might be digging out an old fuzz pedal soon though too.

i've heard that tonebenders work pretty well with AD30s...

around :50, from Mr. Page himself.
if you're limiting your fuzzes to only muff types, then naturally it won't sound good. too much scoop going on. the more "british" flavored fuzzes (octavia, fuzz face, tonebenders) usually do pretty well. my friend's Fulltone Soulbender sounds AWESOME through my Rocker. i guess i'll let you know how it sounds with the AD

Ya...its just the nature of the AD and the over the top fuzz I like. Im still in search of the perfect head to take my fuzz boxes...if only Fender made a Deville head.
That sort of relates to the topic at hand...when I got my deville I rediscovered how good fuzz can be. Unfortunately space is an issue for me and cant have cabinets and combos...no room.

A funny thing about fuzzes and especially, octavia's, is that they like certain pickups more than others - like neck pickups for example.
