Ha ha ha ha ha! I like how he doesn't bother to shut down the Marshall head when switching cabs.
Here's another Marshall vs Orange cab comparison: put your car keys/ slide/ capo, etc. on a Marshall cab before practice and you'll be picking them up off of the floor before the end of your session - do the same with an Orange cab and they won't budge. I had a pile of nails on my Orange 4X12 for two weeks with my AD140TC head going through it and I never had to pick up a nail. Rock solid.

Very noticeable difference in tone. Orange cabs don't just LOOK solid, they are!

kinda wish they would've done the demo with a Marshall w/V30s. i'd like to see the difference between the actual sound of the cab itself, instead of a comparison between a V30 cab and a G12T cab. BUT of course the orange sounded a ton better. beefier.

Yeah I wish they'd have grabbed a marshall with V30s to do the apples to apples thing. No doubt the orange cabs are solid as brick shithouses though. My Hiwatt would crush my 1960 Marshalls in a cage match.

I actually prefer the Marshall cab for the 800. The V30's in the Orange make the Marshall amp a bit mid-spikey...

Re: Marshall cab vs Orange cab comparison video
Uh - pointless to me. Different Cab, different speakers, different sound - what you'd expect then. Here in the UK the Marshall cabs and the drivers are a fair bit cheaper as well - so its not really comparing like with like.
Gotta lotta love for Orange and Marshall gear - Guess I don't really like this kind of 'knock the competition' - only thing this video does is to demonstrate how not to swap cabs.
Just my two-pence worth of English reserve and sense of fair play...

Re: Marshall cab vs Orange cab comparison video
as soon as he said "hi it's Eric from orange"... it was obvious what the outcome was gunna be.
the orange is louder, due to the speaker sensitivity. the construction would give it a fuller sound too, i could hear the bottom end increce.
they aren't showing the difference between 'cabinet construction' so this is perhaps why they weren't using a v30 in the marshall, or a g12t75 in the orange. they're showing the standard offerings from each maker.
mic'd with a camera mic and compressed via youtube isn't ever gunna give fantastic results though.

Re: Marshall cab vs Orange cab comparison video
on another note, it would have beautiful if when he plugged into the orange cab, he got no sound as a result of not switching the amp to standby when changing cabs...

That was a pointless video. More like "how to not demo correctly"
