Re: Who's you guitar Idol?
Here's Mr. Gorham playing one of my favorite solos ever. I was fortunate enough to see Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott in 83 as a kid when my family was stationed in Japan (Dad was USAF). RIP PHIL YOU WERE THE GREATEST!
Even though I'm more of a riffer, I love a good lead player who plays with soul.
That Sykes guy ain't no slouch either.

Re: Who's you guitar Idol?
for me, it's not one guitarist. if i'd have to name a few, it'd be the Edge (brace for the flaming), Jimi, Jimmy, Tom Johnston...to name a few.

My inspirational guitarplayer right now is this one:

He got it all, the chops, the moves, the beard,...
And the one guitarplayer that keeps me playing is Wylde, when he hits the strings with his pick it's just pure adrenaline, when it's a LP and a Marshall or a banjo through a mic!!! And he also got the beard...

Who's you guitar Idol?
I really wish I could answer this question, but I keep drawing a blank. I guess if I had to name someone it would be David Gilmour, but I never really studied or paid much attention to one particular guitarist's style. I feel like a guitar slut bouncing around from one guitarist to the next but never really staying around long enough to commit to one.

Re: Who's you guitar Idol?
I really like a lot of the guys listed, in particular, Slash, Page, Jimi, EVH etc
One left off our list so far that I love and has really come up with really great riffs and solos is Neal Schon. The solo in "Lights" is, for my money, one of the best solos I've heard. I just love the tone and notes.
