Saturday night jam: Gretsch dyna jet/Bluesbreaker/Echo
Saturday night and my 12-year old (drummer) and I were jamming. We did sleepwalk.
I set up a AT 4047 about six feet in front of his kit.

I was using my Marshall Bluesbreaker, Gretsch Dyna Jet and a Boss space echo pedal. No reverb or delay or eq, just a raw recording in my practice room. We spent more time messing with mic placement than recording!

Thanks for checking it out. Yes, it's a hoot having a built in drummer! I've been encouraging him to do the Bonham double kick thing more...we'll work on that.

Thanks man, I really like that Gretsch, it's a 6128TCG with TV Jones and T-Armonds. Ha, yes the bluesbreaker is a 6L6 amp with Celestion Blues so it can sparkle and chime!

That sounds cool man. I dig it. Not bad for a 12 year old either. The guitar player sucks though.

Hey, BTW, have you been to a chicago club called Door to Door? Japan Nite is moving this year for some reason.

Yeah, it's a cool mid-size club. Sometimes they have some lame shows but typically the bands that are too big to play at smaller places like Empty Bottle, Beat Kitchen, Schuba's, etc. play there. I have a buddy that works there. They have pretty good sound over there. It's about half the size of The Metro.pages plexitone wrote: Doh! Yes, Double Door is correct. Have you been there?
Also, I was just checking out their website and they can provide a 24 track recording of your live show there for only $60 that you can mix later on. That's a pretty cool perk.

Very cool man!
Did you replace the stock Dynas with the T Armonds? Do you have a comparison between the two that you could fill me in on?

Yep, I replaced the stock dynas (which were cool, but a bit too spikey on top) with the TV Jones T-Armonds which have more beef.
Here's what it looks like under the hood. The long magnets belong to the stock pups.

Nice. Did the neck clean up some? I know you didn't care for the stock neck pickup sine it was too muddy on it's own IIRC.
