Makes me think of a place I know...here's some pics of a studio (Vice World Studio) where I recorded back in 2003. Some really old (cool) stuff. The whole studio is a museum... I really enjoyed this weekend of recording!

Most of the gear only falls into a couple of categories. What each outboard box brings is their own flavor. Some are much more expensive than others.

I imagine most of those units are dynamics. Most of those big 90's guys did their EQ's on their $200,000 console.

Ok.. since everyone refuse to bite, i'll continue my monologue:
Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) who attacked the Nakatomi Corp. building in the movie Die Hard (1988)
Jack Joseph Puig - Producer/Sound engineer/Owner of an insane amount of gear:

The do look similar... but Hans Gruber's poses don't lead me to think he has mastered the use of floppy purple butt dildos.

You've got the pictures reversed!
Alan Rickman is a brilliant actor. He and Reginald Vel Johnson are the only reason that Bruce Willis isn't still doing crappy TV shows like Moonlighting.

The picture reversal was deliberate. It made the post even more hilarious don't you think?

I'd like to have just one of those high end tube compressors he has in there...
Funny thing about that mixing room is that it has thousands of dollars in gear in it, but no sound treatment.

Nice looking studio! Dude needs a new monitor. Or is that an old computer for the automation on the desk?

Yeah, that is what I was thinking when I saw that picture for the first time a while back. I bet that room sounds like a mess.baytamusic wrote:I'd like to have just one of those high end tube compressors he has in there...

long story short...the owner of the studio don't record anymore and don't have a computer in the studio...just the old monitor sitting there.baytamusic wrote:Nice looking studio! Dude needs a new monitor. Or is that an old computer for the automation on the desk?
the place is for rent, you bring your sound guy and a computer and do your things on your own...really cool place!!! lots of memorable moments lol
