Re: Hate to post this but.....
How many watts are the mini classic Marshall heads? Those are interesting indeed.
Edit: Never mind, I think they are all 1W. That's disappointing to me if that's the case. A 15-20w JCM800 or Plexi and I would highly consider it. If I can't gig it I have a hard time owning it...
Unless it's the Mico Terror. I could find uses for that.

They're like $800 and 1 watt. I understand they're cute and everything, but the OR15 would have to really suck to make those seem like the better deal.

The 1 watt heads by Marshall are £549! Haha what a joke of a company!
Speaking to a guy today he said his friend is the designer of the amps and he said there handmade whatever that means? He heard a prototype and said it was very good through a 4 x 12. They even used it as a preamp into a jvm head.
He owns the music shop and he sound legit but £500+

Re: Hate to post this but.....
I'd pay that kind of money for a 1watt Orange. I'm a basement warrior. I'd like to try one of those Marshalls, just for fun.
Amps: Orange TH30, Mesa Boogie Mini Rectifier, Eleven Rack, Peavey Vypyr Tube 60.
Guitars: Gibson Les Paul Standard LE (Manhattan Midnight blue), Greco white LP, Burny honeyburst LP, PRS Torero.

This what they do for their 50th anniversary? They better come out with something better than this. 1w? Give me a break...

They look nice at least. I don't know if handwired 1-watt amps are that desirable for such a steep price, but I understand it for a limited run anniversary amp. Maybe next year they will do PCB versions made overseas in large quantities for around half the price. That would be more appealing to me. I'd probably go for a Class 5 head instead if it had a Master Volume.

The thing I have got to give these the thumbs up on is that they are available already. Went to the local orange dealer the other day to ask about the OR15 and they said expect a 6 to 9 month delay???? What the hell? At that rate they should have saved them as 2013 models.

Re: Hate to post this but.....
Once there was a time that the bigger the amps and stacks, the better and cooler it was.
Nowadays everything has to be small, pocket, easy to carry and all that....
I think they look cool, the 1W Marshallamps, and sound great, at very reasonable volumes.
Maybe they're a bit to expensive, but it is still a handwired tube amp.
It's not because it's only 1W that it will be cheap, they're still a tube amp with quality parts!!
It think Marshall will come with other things this year than 1W versions of their classic amps.
It's such a shame Gary Moore died while they were working on a signature amp for him, that would be a very nice 50th anniversary signature amp!!!!

Only going to be made this year too, probably explains the price a bit.

Re: Hate to post this but.....
They said in the Premier Guitar demo that the JTM-1 is first to be released and 10 weeks later, the JMP-1 comes out. Then, another 10 weeks before the JCM-1 comes out, then 10 more weeks for the DSL-1, then 10 more weeks for the JVM-1. That means a 40-week wait for the JVM-1 if I understood the demo correctly.hellagnar Brosevelt wrote:The thing I have got to give these the thumbs up on is that they are available already.
