Thunder 30

Post by Takeda » Wed Jan 11, 2012 11:58 pm

Hi guys, I was about to buy the orange thunder 30, but searching info on the web i've read that it's made in china.
Now, i like its sound a lot, but I'd like to know yours opinions about that, expecially the owners.
Is the construction quality much lower in comparison to the rocker?

I had a TH30 for a bit, personally I thought the construction was A+, much better then the two PPC112's I had that were made in china

You sure you don't want to hold out for that OR50 or OR15 that are coming out soon? ;)

I wouldn't worry about the made in china thing.

I have a TH30 and totally love it. It's built like a tank like other Orange heads/amps. I haven't had any problems with it.

The made in China is not a problem, unless Orange doesn't care about quality control, which I doubt.

Orange really cares about quality control- Cliff and Ade go over there to oversee things and check things out regularly....

Thank you for the asnwers guys!
I was undecided between the thunder 30 and the rocker 30 only for the construction, because I love the thunder's 30 high gain sound, and also i've a lot of pedal which need send/return!

Some of the earlier stuff out of China seemed a bit dodgy. I bought a PPC112 about 5 years back which had a lot of cosmetic flaws, however, given the build quality of my newer PPC212 OB, I would say those issues have been addressed. Build quality is excellent.
Fender USA Standard Stratocaster
Gordon Smith Galaxy
Gibson Les Paul Classic
Faith Jupiter Jumbo Acoustic
Orange Rocker 30 HD
Orange Micro Terror
Orange PPC 212 OB
Lead
Plectrum
Attitude
Sorted!
