Been away quite a while...and honestly will probably be again. Just thought I'd drop in and say hello to all the long timers here. I've scaled way back on the Orange collection. Down to my beloved AD140 and one 4X12 cab.....of course it's at my parents house in storage. They live in the USA and I've moved to sunny Sydney, Australia. Couldn't justify bringing it over but couldn't bring myself to sell it either. I did bring over my Fender Deluxe and a few guitars and I've hooked up with some musos over here and getting into the scene.
Hope everyone is doing well and best of luck in the new year!

Re: Hey all
Funny you say that.....because the answer is YES! I bought a Texas style smoker pit right away.....only one available. The hard part is getting a proper packer brisket. I'll have to go to a butcher and get it cut special.Cordboard wrote:I assume you will be teaching them how to smoke a brisket soon?

Re: Hey all
We're here for good. On a 4 year work visa right now but will be sponsored for permanent residency after 3 years. I'll be shipping my amp over soon. Reason I left it was because it wouldn't fit in the shipping container after we got all the essentials packed into it and I didn't want to spend the cash to have it shipped separately at that time. Left behind 5 guitars as well.Les Paul Lover wrote:The sad thing is that you#ll now need to buy a another Orange......

Yes indeed! Sausages here are great and the beef kills the beef in the US! We love it here!irish_admiral wrote:The Aussies have got some decent BBQ of their own going also!

Re: Hey all
Cool man!
Is your AD140 a custom shop or a twin channel? I too am getting ready to severely scale back on my Orange gear. I've found my tone with an OR120 and don't expect to look back. I've played, owned, or borrowed the following Orange amps: OR120, OD80, RV100, TV200, RV50, R30, AD140HTC, AD140 CS, Retro 50, AD50, OR50 40th production, AD30, TT, DT, TH30. Out of all of that, I'm going to keep (1) OR120 and a PPC412. I prefer single channel amps, so that narrowed it down considerably for me, and the OR120 won out for me. It's a liberating feeling to find an amp or even a couple of amps you want to stick with, and not be tone chasing anymore.
I'll also be keeping a marshall 800, and am prowling for a Hiwatt. Those 3 amps will have all of my tonal preferences covered bar none. I will be able to record anything I'd ever care to write with those 3 amps.
