I like the idea of the push-pull mid boost. I'll add that to my list.

As for the tremolo, it's a 6 pole version. Its also a left handed model, which increases the cool factor of my Strat (you can see it in my signature if you look close enough). Could a lefty tremolo on a right handed guitar go out of tune easier than the normal configuration?

You need to check out Rothstein guitars. I modded my Fender Jazz bass with one of his kits and it is absolutely killer. You can do mid-boost, varitone, mid-cut, active, passive, whatever your heart desires.

did you change the nut at all?
If you've got a lefty nut righty stringed guitar, your problem is there.

Pop the nut out, and stick the other way around. Your problem should be solved. If it solves it, add a tiny drop of super glue - though string tension alone should keep it in place.

Mechanicaly, nothing should prevent that tremolo working perfectly upside down.

The mod I did on my strat was to rewire one of the tone dials as a blend dial. So... master volume, master tone & blend. When in positions 1 or 2 it mixed in the bridge, progressively, and then when in 4 or 5, the neck pickup.

Made for a really versatile range of sounds...

Want a humbucker or boost sound, grab a pedal. Or do it old school and have your "normal" settings with the guitar volume dial at 80%

I've been trying to hold off posting this because it adds nothing to the conversation...

But a truly awesome mod that would have people talking about you forever more would be a button which, when pressed, sounds a foghorn and releases a swarm of live bees into the audience

Love the foghorn!!!!!!!

Them poor bees though. Unless the pub you're playing has a hell of lot of flowers needing pollinating...???

How about a 'super killswitch' designed to short out all electronic equipment in the building? A good way to end a show if it's not going to plan ;)

How about just messing around with different caps and wirings, treble bleeds and so on? At least on a LP it makes a big difference.

Upgrade the trem block for a big brass block. Add sustain and warmth.
Tone is everything

Brass nut too works well on a Strat.

Put a camelbak pouch in the rear cavity, fill it with whisky and run the tube around your strap.

Can't believe I never thought about that before...
