CL80s should work fine with Oranges. They are the closest sounding Celestions to the G12H-30. Good speakers.
I'm with the "my Orange don't like them '75s" brigade BTW. They just can't put out the real full low mids Orange sound and what you are left with sounds pretty gutless to my ears. The very same 300W Marshall 4x12 I hated with my OR120 sounded pretty darn fine with the studio JCM800 cranked though it. Thats my own experience with '75s...

I kind of like my 1960A cab with my OD120 - that said, I do really want to get my hands on another v30 4x12 or at least swap out 2 of the 75s for 2 v30s, I think that'd be perfect!

We did a few shows with Kill Devil Hill in Oct. and used their backline of Marshall 1960A cabs (they had two top cabs run side by side). I'd never run my Orange head through them before and its sounded glorious.

I believe you. Not all 1960 cabs were '75 loaded though. There have been various drivers used over the years.doomedfuzz wrote:We did a few shows with Kill Devil Hill in Oct. and used their backline of Marshall 1960A cabs (they had two top cabs run side by side). Yep, and I personally think the 65's are the best speakers ever loaded in marshall cabs. they sound somewhat like a 25 greenback to my ears, but they have the higher power rating so you don't have to worry about blowing them either.a.hun wrote:I believe you.
